Zhongchang Wang obtained his Ph.D. in 2008 from the University of Tokyo in Japan. He thereafter spent two years (2008-2009) as research associate at Advanced Institute for Materials Research (AIMR), Tohoku University in Japan and subsequently three years (2010-2013) as assistant professor. In 2013, he was promoted to associate professor at Tohoku University. In 2016, he was also a visiting professor at University College London (UCL), UK. Since 2017, Dr. Wang joined International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL) as a research group leader, leading a research group of ‘Atomic Manipulation for Quantum Nanotechnology (AMQN)’, which is dedicated to developing new materials and heterosystems for electronic, electrochemical, magnetic, energy, information storage and sensing applications. He is a fellow of International Association of Advanced Materials (FIAAM), and serves as chief editor, editor, and editorial board member for +15 scientific journals.
He published more than 300 SCI-indexed papers in Nature, Nat. Nanotech., Nat. Commun., Adv. Mater., Nano Lett., Angew Chemie, JACS, etc. (+10 papers in Nature and its series) and 2 book chapters with +10000 citations and H-index of 60. He has coordinated/participated +25 R&D projects from Europe, Japan and China, filled 16 patents, and delivered +100 invited talks in scientific conferences and institutions. He has also received +10 awards from Japan, China, and Europe, e.g., “Young Scientist Award”, “NEC Tokin Science and Technology Award”, “Outstanding Scientist Award”, and “IAAM Scientist Medal”. He is currently interested in design and preparation of new low-dimensional materials and semiconductors for ultrathin electronic, information storage, and sensing devices.
