Prof. Sasa Divjak, Ph.D., born in 1946 in Aurisina, Italy, is a prominent Slovenian academic with a distinguished career in electrical engineering and computer science. He earned his B.Sc., M.Sc., and D.Sc. from the University of Ljubljana, where he later became a full professor and held key leadership roles, including Dean of the Faculty of Computer and Information Science. His industrial experience includes serving as Vice President of Iskra Delta Computers, where he significantly contributed to the development of Slovenia’s technological infrastructure.

Prof. Divjak’s impact extends beyond academia and industry; he has been deeply involved in professional organizations such as IEEE and ACM. His expertise in automation, robotics, and multimedia has led to significant advancements in these fields, and his work on Slovenia’s first robots and various educational projects has had a lasting influence on the country’s technological development. His contributions have been recognized with numerous awards, including several Slovenian innovation awards.

One of the highlights of Prof. Divjak’s career was his tenure as President of the European Academy of Sciences (EurASc) from April 2013 to April 2015, following his role as Vice President. He was also honored with the EurASc Honor for Distinguished Leadership, recognizing his significant contributions to the scientific community. Even after his retirement in 2013, he continues to contribute to academia as a Professor Emeritus at the University of Ljubljana and through lectures at the University of Novo Mesto.
