Dawei Wang earned his Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) from Tsinghua University in China in 2003, and his Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) in 2007, Ph.D. in 2011, and Habilitation in 2017 from RWTH Aachen University in Germany. He has authored or co-authored over 300 publications and 13 monographs and is ranked among the World’s Top 2% Scientists by Stanford University. His research has been supported by prestigious organizations, including the German Research Foundation (DFG), Federal Highway Research Institute, Ministry of Science and Technology etc.

Prof. Wang holds more than 30 patents, and his research contributions have been integrated into standards across Europe, Germany, and China. He is actively engaged in the academic community, serving as an associate editor for 9 journals and participating in editorial boards for over ten others. He has also played significant roles in international academic conferences, including as a chair and committee member. His groundbreaking work in Functional Pavement Materials, Multi-scale and Multi-physics Mechanics and Intelligent Road Infrastructure has led to practical applications that benefit citizens in both Europe and Asia.
