Claudia-Lidia Badea was born on January 12, 1937, in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
She studied at the Faculty of Mathematics of the University of Bucharest, where she obtained her PhD in Mathematics in 1973. In 1987, she earned the title of Doctor of Natural Sciences from the University of Vienna, and in 1991, she achieved her Habilitation (Dozent) at the University of Salzburg. Until 1985, she was a professor at the University of Brașov, Romania, after which she continued her career as a visiting professor at the University of Salzburg and a researcher in industry until her retirement.
In recognition of her outstanding contributions to mathematical research, Prof. Badea has recently been honored as a Distinguished Reviewer of zbMATH Open. This recognition, awarded by the Editorial Board of zbMATH Open, acknowledges her long-standing dedication and high-quality reviews that have significantly contributed to maintaining the excellence of zbMATH Open. As a token of appreciation, she received a Certificate of Recognition for 2024 from zbMATH Open and the European Mathematical Society (EMS).
Her lifelong dedication to mathematics and her continued impact on the mathematical community are widely acknowledged, and this recent distinction further underscores her exceptional scholarly contributions.
