We are pleased to announce that Prof. Herbert Gleiter, a distinguished member of the European Academy of Sciences since 2009 and recipient of the Blaise Pascal Medal in the same year, has been appointed as the Founding Director of two prestigious institutes in China. Prof. Gleiter will lead the Herbert Gleiter Institute of Nanotechnology (HGI) in Nanjing and the Herbert Gleiter International Institute (HGII) in Shenyang.
In addition to his new appointments, Prof. Gleiter has recently been honored by the Chinese National Academy of Sciences and the Liaoning Academy of Materials (LAM). In 2023, he was also elected as a Fellow and a Member of the Core Academy, Division of Natural Science. Furthermore, Lanzhou University awarded him an Honorary Doctorate, recognizing his outstanding contributions to the field.
