Prof. Paul Lecoq - Switzerland
CERN
Paul Lecoq has spent all its scientific career at CERN. He has received his diploma of engineer in physics instrumentation at the Ecole Polytechnique de Grenoble in 1972, under the leadership of Nobel Laureate Louis Néel, and his PhD in Nuclear Physics at the University of Montreal (Canada) in 1974. He has then been working at CERN in 5 major international experiments on particle physics, one of them led by Nobel Laureate Samuel Ting. He has been responsible for the construction of the scintillator-based electromagnetic calorimeter of the CMS experiment, which has èlayed a central role in the detection of the Higgs boson. He has initiated in 1990 the creation of an international and multidisciplinary collaboration (Crystal Clear) hosted by CERN, and of the cycle of SCINT conferences for the development of new inorganic scintillators for scientific and industrial applications.

Prof. Dimitri Batani - France
UNIVERSITY OF BORDEAUX
Dimitri Batani is a professor of “exceptional class” at Bordeaux University. His scientific interests are centered on laser-produced plasmas. He has made pioneering contribution in the use of laser-driven shock waves, and more recently in the use of short-pulse high-intensity lasers, to study matter in extreme conditions. He also pioneered the study of the propagation in matter of laser-produced fast electrons, relevant for the fast ignition approach to inertial confinement fusion, and of the physics of shock ignition for. He is member of the Institute Universitaire de France, of the European Academy of Science and fellow of EPS. He is responsible of the PETAL+ project (realization of plasma diagnostics for the LMJ/PETAL facility) and of the EUROFusion project on Shock Ignition. He has been awarded the Friedel-Volterra prize (jointly issued by the Italian and the French Physical Society) for his contribution to inertial fusion.

Prof. Victor Malka - France
WEIZMANN INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE
Victor Malka is a CNRS research director (DRCE) at Laboratoire d’Optique Appliquée (CNRS/ENSTA/Ecole polytechnique), and Professor at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel. He worked on different topics such as atomic physics, inertial fusion, laser plasma interaction. His works now is mainly devoted on relativistic laser plasma interaction and on laser plasma accelerators, in which he makes several breakthrough contributions. He has published about 350 articles and has been invited in more than 175 international conferences. He got several national prizes (including the Grand Prix d’Etat of the French Academy of Sciences) and international prizes (including in 2017 the Julius Springer prize, the F. Holweck prize from the SFP and IOP, and the QEOD prize from EPS). Victor Malka, fellow of APS and EPS, member of the European and of the Romanian Academy of Science, got 2 Advanced and 2 Proof of Concept grants from ERC.
